Mascle represents MWP at national conference

Morehead Writing Project Director Deanna Mascle presented two sessions at the 2014 Conference on College Composition and Communication held March 19-22 in Indianapolis. Both sessions were related to her MWP work as well as her roles as a writing instructor, First Year Seminar instructor, and College Readiness Coordinator at Morehead State University.

MWP’s Writing Studio program was inspired by the 2012 CCCC in St. Louis and during the 2014 CCCC Mascle presented during a panel about Studio work. The panel, Composition as Open Environment: A roundtable discussion of the Writing Studio, explored the many different interpretations of Writing Studio found on campuses throughout the country. Mascle’s session, The NWP Studio  Model: Exploring new possibilities, shared the pilot years of the MWP Writing Studio program.

Several of the panelists, including Mascle, are contributing chapters to a book about the Writing Studio (forthcoming).

In addition, Mascle presented Badges, Blogs, and Google+: Clicking in an Online Learning Community as part of a Computer Connection session during the 2014 CCCC. The session was inspired by her experience creating an online community in both the MWP Online Summer Institute and First Year Seminar as well as previous online writing classes.
