What is it?
The Summer Institute (SI) is a three-week writing and learning retreat open to teachers of all disciplines and grade levels. Its goal is to produce better teachers of writing by producing better writers among teachers. Participants are introduced to new and inventive teaching strategies, gain confidence and validation for their current best practices, and are treated to a collegial environment for fellowship, shared brainstorming, and troubleshooting.
Who should apply?
We seek P-16 administrators and teachers from all content areas who are looking for new ideas to help their students become more effective writers and who are willing to work on their own writing. We want teachers who are open to examining their teaching practices and who are interested in learning how to incorporate writing into any subject area.
Why should you apply?
If you are interested in being part of a professional support network and participating in a transformative learning experience, apply now!
