Urge Kentucky leaders to invest in KWP

This week is critical for the future of the Kentucky Writing Project. KWP advocates are meeting with House Education leadership on Jan. 29 and it will greatly help our case if KWP teachers have expressed their support.

I know that you are busy, but if we do not receive funding in this budget then the Kentucky Writing Project will cease to exist. Please make time this week to do at least one of the following:

1. Call 1-800-372-7181 to tell your legislators about the importance of the Kentucky Writing Project to you and explain how an investment in KWP will pay off for Kentucky teachers and students. You can also include Education Committee leaders (Reps. Regina Huff and Steve Riley and Sens. Max Wise and Stephen West) when you leave your message. Use this information to inform your appeal.

2. Send a written personal appeal to your legislators in the form of a letter or postcard and explain how an investment in KWP will pay off for Kentucky teachers and students. Use the image below to create your own postcard or if you prefer a one-pager to include with your letter use this! Please include Education Committee leaders (Reps. Regina Huff and Steve Riley and Sens. Max Wise and Stephen West) in your mailings. Legislators can be reached here: Legislative Offices, 702 Capitol Ave., Frankfort, KY.

Thank you for helping us share our urgent message!
