Teen Writers 3.0

The Morehead Writing Project is excited to announce it will hold a Spring 2020 Teen Writers event – online! Here is your invitation.

“Our high school students are facing so many losses this Spring that we couldn’t bear the idea of missing this event too,” said Morehead Writing Project Site Director Dr. Deanna Mascle. “We have the experience and the tools to make this event happen online – and the virtual nature of the event means that we can extend both the time we write together and what we do with that writing.”

Mascle said that she is working with Morehead State students and other regional pre-service teachers to create an anthology of writing produced during Teen Writers 3.0.

“We are calling it Teen Writers 3.0 because this is the third version of this event,” she said. “Our first version was a Teen Writers Conference and then we moved to a writing marathon and called it Teen Writers Day Out.”

“This event is important to the teen writers of our region as well as their teachers and we are glad that we will be able to preserve this important tradition for our site,” Mascle said.

Teens interested in joining Teen Writers 3.0 should complete this online form so we can begin our work together. Teachers in need of professional development credit or pre-service teachers in need of field experience hours or just willing to help please contact Deanna Mascle (d.mascle@moreheadstate.edu) to make arrangements to work on this project.
