Calling all MWP Writers:
The Morehead Writing Project invites you to join us for a Weekend Writing Retreat to be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at the Hampton Inn in Morehead, Kentucky.
- Reunite with MWP friends & make new ones
- Cleanse your mind & channel your creativity in preparation for the new school year
- Most important of all – write and relax with MWP!
The day will feature a writing marathon with individual sessions led our former Summer Institute leader and talented creative writer Liz Mandrell Prather, our current Summer Institute leader and Kentucky High School Teacher of the Year Brandie Trent, and MWP Poet Mandy Lawson, and other MWP rock stars.
Come spend an amazing day with MWP and feed your inner writer.
In addition to this fabulous writing retreat, participants will receive:
- Journal and pen
- MWP flash drive
- Writing retreat t-shirt
- Snacks and lunch
- Mileage reimbursement (from outside Rowan County)
- Overnight lodging at Hampton Inn available for those traveling
- Fantastic door prizes
- The option to participate in a writing workshop on Sunday!
All MWP Fellows are invited to join us.
We hope you will invite your friends as well! Non-educators are welcome to join us but registration fees must be double the MWP rate.
Registration will be:
- $25 for local participants not requiring mileage and lodging
- $50 for participants requiring mileage
- $75 for participants requiring mileage and lodging
* Scholarships available for MWP Fellows
