2 MWP teachers present at MSU ETC Conference

Morehead Writing Project Summer Institute Co-Director Brandie Trent and Leadership Team member Maggie Prater presented sessions at the 2013 Morehead State University English Teacher Connection Conference June 12.

Trent presented Culturally Responsive Teaching with Rural Adolescents” with Dr. Alison Hruby, assistant English professor at Morehead State University, sharing the results of their current research project.  Trent teaches at Fleming County High School.

Prater presented “Literacy Tools for BYOD and 1:1 Technology: Tips, Tricks, and Considerations” with Rachel Stanfield, both teach at Mason County High School. The two high school English teachers from an iPad 1:1 school share how they implement technology on a daily basis, from their favorite apps and programs for literacy, communication, and collaboration, to classroom management ideas and answers to common questions about how technology can change the culture of a classroom.
