Morehead Writing Project site leaders participated in two National Writing Project programs at the 2023 National Council of Teachers of English Conference as well as the kickoff celebration of the first 50 years of the National Writing Project and honoring outgoing Executive Director Elyse Eidman Aadahl. Even more important, site leaders participated in discussions making plans for the next 50 years of NWP.
- During NWP Day @ NCTE, our site connected with the NWP in the South community and led a roundtable discussion about rebuilding site leadership.
- Our Root Deep, Grow Tall collaboration with Hindman Settlement School was one of the roundtable offerings at Creating The Conexiones that We Need: Local Partners Collaborate and Communicate alongside K12 Youth and Colleagues to Build a More Perfect Union. Check out these resources for inspiration! We shared a table with the Minnesota Writing Project, for example, and that work is amazing.
- Our 2022 Write Across America stop was featured at one of the roundtables during the writing marathon session led by NWP Executive Director Elyse Eidman Aadahl and renowned marathon leader Richard Louth.
