Teen and Tween Writers events a success

The Morehead Writing Project held successful Teen Writers Day Out and Tween Writers Day Out events on the campus of Morehead State University this fall. Spring events are already being planned for March.

Teen writers from Bath, Fleming, Montgomery, and Rowan county high schools gathered on the campus of Morehead State University to write with MWP teacher-leaders as well as MSU faculty and students. You can read more about the event organized by Fleming County High School teacher Brandie Trent on the Fall 2017 Teen Writers Day Out Storify page. Discover the history of TWDO by reading Megan Smedley’s Morehead News article Teen writers unleashed at MSU.

Inspired by the success of our Teen Writers program, we started offering Tween Writers events two years ago. Currently Michelle Martin and Stacie May, of Rowan County Middle School, organize the event.
