Join Us In Writing 4 Right

The Morehead Writing Project is hosting a special virtual writing marathon spanning the months of February and March with a focus on values, understanding, vision, and unity in honor of Black History Month and Women’s History Month. We will continue meeting through April in honor of National Poetry Month and the first part of May to prepare for the next round of the National Writing Project’s #WriteAcrossAmerica. Each week during this virtual writing marathon, we will prepare an invitation for writers focused on one or more of these themes and inspired by the voices of writers from the communities honored during these months.

We invite the writers (of all ages) served by the Morehead Writing Project, Morehead State University, Kentucky Writing Project, and National Writing Project to join us in this work to connect and honor these voices and these values as we write together. The options to participate in Write 4 Right include:

  • Sign up to participate in our virtual sessions (see details below)
  • Use the writing invitations to guide your personal writing and/or writing in your classroom or writing group (Pandemic Writing Prompt Collection)
  • Contact MoreheadWP if you need professional development or field experience credit
  • Contact MoreheadWP if you would like to request an individual session for your writing group, class, or school

We have elected to continue to offer our sessions on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. Eastern based on feedback received from our current registrations. We may reassess the time if we have a number of new registrations. Note: Registering for the virtual sessions does not obligate you to attend. We understand that life often inspires changes to your plans. However, you must register in order to receive your Zoom invitation.

We welcome writers of all ages including young writers to join our virtual writing marathon sessions offered via Zoom. Teachers who wish to encourage their students to participate should let us know so we can make sure you receive your Zoom info in time and other support as needed.

Contact Site Director Dr. Deanna Mascle for more information at d.mascle@moreheadstate.edu.

This event is free of charge but if you are able to make a small donation to the Morehead Writing Project it will help us continue to offer programs such as #Writing4Right.
