Technology Co-Director Billie Jo Thornsberry and Laura Daniels led the 2012 Literacy and Technology Academy held on the campus of Morehead State University June 26-28. The Morehead Writing Project Tech Academy was one of eight academies offered by the Kentucky Writing Project throughout the state.
Participants learned how to use technology to enhance student literacy and earned 18 hours of professional development credit. They developed individual literacy and technology plans based on the lessons and resources shared during the Academy.
Thornsberry teaches science and Project Lead the Way at Lewis County Middle School. Daniels teaches fifth grade for Fairview Independent Schools. This is the second year the two teachers have led the MWP Tech Academy. Both teachers serve on the Morehead Writing Project Leadership Team.
