The Morehead Writing Project is offering two sets of Saturday workshops this Spring.
The first Saturday sessions will focus on writing assessment and will be held Saturday, Feb. 18, on the main campus of Morehead State University in the Combs Building. Sessions covering constructed response and on-demand writing will be held back-to-back for this full-day session. Registration for one three-hour session is $30 and registration for both sessions is $50.
Deconstructing Constructed Response will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. Open response and constructed response are not the same! Do you know the difference? Old methods used to teach students how to answer open response questions are outdated and will not satisfy new requirements under Senate Bill One. This session focuses on constructed response questions and how they compare and contrast with open response. Participants will learn how to write good constructed response questions and how to teach students to write exemplary constructed response answers.
On-Demand Writing: Back By Popular Demand will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Teaching students to do well on the on-demand writing portion of the KCCT can be demanding! Let us help you master the fine art of teaching students to write fantastic on-demand writing pieces. Participants will learn different methods and techniques for helping students compose exemplary on demand writing pieces.
