Kentucky’s First Lady Jane Beshear visited Morehead State March 5, 2013, as part of her efforts to promote the importance of literacy through the annual Kentucky Literacy Celebration Week.
The Morehead Writing Project was one of the professional development programs, also including the Kentucky Reading Project and the 21st Century Education Enterprise, to be highlighted during the visit.
MWP Site Director Deanna Mascle and Peer Writer Megan Ison described MWP’s work with teachers at all levels of experience (including pre-service teachers) from primary through postsecondary as well as across content areas and emphasized the NWP model of collaborative learning and learning communities.
